Interventional Cardiologist - Burlington County, NJ

Job ID R1018917 Type Employee - Full Time Location Mount Holly, New Jersey Standard Hours 40

Virtua Medical group is seeking an interventional cardiologist to join Virtua Interventional Cariology Group. The position is available immediately. VICG maintains a presence in 5 counties of Southwestern NJ, outside of Philadelphia, with the outpatient clinical hub in Voorhees and inpatient/ interventional hub at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. Additional procedures are performed at the Virtua (Marlton, NJ) and Virtua Memorial (Mt Holly, NJ) Health System hospitals. Outpatient services are provided in Cherry Hill, Voorhees, Moorestown, Woodbury, Egg Harbor, and Hammonton NJ. VICG is a full service interventional cardiology group with board certified subspecialists trained and practicing in all aspects of clinical cardiology, vascular imaging, interventional, peripheral vascular, and structural services. The group is also involved in a robust clinical research program.

The majority of the Interventionalists’ practice is hospital-based Interventional Cardiology with a significant portion of time dedicated to services in peripheral vascular, venous, and structural heart disease. The individual case volume is approximately 400 diagnostic caths and an average of 125 coronary interventions per operator annually (in addition to vascular and structural cases). The expectation for a new colleague would be roughly 60-70% of time in the cath lab, with the remainder in the outpatient setting (peripheral vascular, vein center, structural). Office-based clinical cardiology practice is available if interested, but not expected. The ideal candidate should have advanced vascular and structural training, outpatient venous procedure experience (sclerotherapy, thermal and non-thermal venous ablation), and proficiency with vascular ultrasound interpretation. RPVI certification is preferred but not required. The structural heart disease program has been extremely successful and is growing rapidly, with TAVR procedures performed regularly since 2013.

VMG offers a competitive financial remuneration package along with a comprehensive benefit package which includes all insurances and retirement plan options. The candidate’s skill set should include coronary interventions, peripheral endovascular intervention , and venous procedures. Limb salvage/preservation and structural training/skills would enhance the candidate's application.
