Director Strategic Sourcing

Summary:
Develops and directs system-wide Strategic Sourcing for Virtua’s $2.3 billion operating revenue-based system. Ensures high-quality, cost effective software, IT hardware, materials, medical supplies, implants and services are available as required. Possesses the skills needed to respond to crises interrupting supply chain operations by developing creative approaches in sourcing vendors and negotiating contracts to ensure there is no disruption to clinical operations or other organizational functions. Effectively manages vendor relationships. Supports or leads both clinical and non-clinical resource management projects. Collaborates with senior management, physicians, other clinicians, and the legal department on strategic and operational initiatives including value analysis product review and approval. Executes planning, implementation and optimization of the Supply Chain enterprise resource planning (ERP) software systems automation, contract life cycle and monitoring of KPIs for Sourcing. Collaborates with senior management, physicians, other clinicians, and the legal department on strategic and operational initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
Planning and execution of Virtua’s strategic initiatives as they relate to Strategic Sourcing / Contract management. Initiatives include Virtua’s group purchasing organization (GPO) relationship development and compliance management, vendor relationships, Supply Chain ERP and other software systems upgrades & functionality, acquisitions, divestitures, etc. Has the ability to be flexible and creatively adapt quickly to extraordinary circumstances.
Department operations: hiring and training of staff, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, oversight of procurement card transactions, ongoing education of staff, etc. Ensures a high level of colleague engagement.
Reporting and management of Key Performance Indicators – Pricing Discrepancies, Contract Status, timely renewals, etc.
Supports and engages with senior leaders, physicians and other clinicians on system-wide contracting initiatives and value analysis product review and approval committees. Also, collaborate with or leads the Value Analysis and Distribution Center team on resolution of backordered supply issues by facilitating contracts with alternate vendors, supplier relationship management and other efforts to mitigate service interruption, etc.
Manages the department’s operational budget. Maximizes rebates and GPO share backs eligible to Virtua, tracking and measuring accordingly.
Oversees and manages annual Business Plans and Financial Impact Report savings reporting (actual vs. planned).
Responsible for review and approval of all Contracts and ensures their compliance with Virtua policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
8 years progressively responsible experience in Purchasing and Healthcare Resource Management. Three years' leadership experience required. In depth knowledge of accepted Purchasing concepts and practices. Experience in Contract management, bid processes and analysis. Understanding of contract law and ability to understand contract language and create contract documents.
PC skilled and experience in Windows-based environment. Materials Management Information System experience is required.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Valid driver's license may be required.
Annual Salary: $117,575 - $188,672 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
