Business Operations Director - Surgical Services
Job ID: R1051341 Type: Full Time Location: Voorhees Township, New Jersey Standard Hours: 40 Shift: 1st ShiftThis position will support the VP of Surgical Services Operations by helping the Surgical Services AVP’s across the Virtua system. Travel to all campuses will be required.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the overall management of administrative, support and business operations for the department(s). In concert with the Vice President has system-wide oversight of business operations, resource management, reduction of expenses, analytic analysis, productivity, block utilization, and supporting the growth of the department(s).
Position Responsibilities
Works with divisional AVP’s and VPs of finance on annual budgets and variance reports. Develop ROIs as needed.
Drives budgetary goals and adjusts for volume and revenue management, translates business strategies into successful clinical operations, uses PI initiatives to improve daily operations.
Demonstrates broad knowledge of department’s finances and translates that knowledge to create financial efficiencies.
Responsible for effectively managing resources and leveraging financial information to achieve year over year improvement to the P&L. Developing and monitoring dashboards, analysis of financial productivity and capital budgets with leaders. Prepare and report monthly PL reports.
Manages large, complex projects to support the growth of the department, including providing operational leadership for achievement of the business goals. Aligns the needs of the consumer with the operations of the department and leverages technology to keep pace with the changing healthcare landscape. Process improvement skills for current and future projects to support architectural changes and department efficiencies.
Fosters positive communication and develops effective relationships with partners, staff and leadership including system-wide departments.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience: 7-10 years of professional work experience in a healthcare-related field. Experience increasing patient volume, and revenue growth and capture.
Knowledge of billing and insurance requirements including pre-authorization, and co-pay collection. Must have a thorough knowledge of health system organizations, administration, and policies and procedures. Requires effective use of problem solving, negotiating, conflict management, team leading and teambuilding skills. Must possess ability to communicate well in written and verbal forms with others, both internally and externally. Requires strong business acumen with ability to translate goals into actions.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or healthcare-related field, Master’s degree preferred
Annual Salary: $95,830 - $157,932 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
