Summary:
Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the technical activities of the general lab.

Supports Assistant VP of laboratory operations, Lab Operations Directors, and /or Manager in financial, human resources, and quality management activities.

Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overall operations with in a specialty area through the monitoring of testing systems and processes from the pre-analytical phase through the post analytical phase of testing. Performs all appropriate documentation to remain compliant with current standards and regulatory codes.

• Manages staff in both behavioral and technical development through application of Virtua Star Behaviors and the administration of competency and proficiency testing programs.

• Responsible for communicating technical and organizational information both inter and interdepartmentally through the use of email, staff meetings, campus communication groups, and other methods of communication.

• In conjunction with the assigned director or manager, designs, directs and evaluates multidisciplinary performance improvement programs through the use of the Virtua took kit.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

At least five years' experience in specialty area with a thorough understanding of laboratory operations. Good interpersonal and time management skills. Proven ability to understand laboratory budgets and statistical records related to laboratory operations.Demonstrated Supervisory skills.

Required Education:
BS in laboratory science or a bachelor's degree in a biological science, or Chemistry meeting CLIA requirements.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Valid certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent or meets CLIA '88 educational requirements for high complexity testing.ASCP certification preferred.

Valid driver's license may be required.

Annual Salary: $90,431 - $148,994 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
