Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the operations of programs that support underserved urban and rural communities, as well as patients experiencing diet-related chronic conditions and food insecurity. This position oversees day-to-day logistics, supports staff and volunteers, manages internal and external stakeholder relationships, and monitors program performance through data tracking and reporting. The coordinator functions as the central point of contact for vendors, partners, and internal teams, ensuring programs are executed effectively and aligned with Virtua’s mission and community health goals.
Position Responsibilities:
Operations
Overseas daily program operations for all locations.
Responsibilities include maintaining service schedules, coordinating patient access and referrals, supporting event logistics, managing inventory and supply ordering, ensuring proper data entry, and tracks budget-related activities. Supervises support staff as needed and collaborate with leadership to implement policies and procedures.
Works closely with department leadership to support the management of the program budget.
Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement
Leads internal and external education and outreach initiatives to promote program awareness.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with referral sources and community organizations.
Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors, clients, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
Data and Program Improvement
Oversee the program’s data collection, quality assurance, and reporting.
Leads process improvement initiatives and supports staff in engaging and utilizing the tools and techniques for process improvement
Collaborate with department leadership to provide comprehensive reports on program impact and progress toward goals.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
Demonstrated interest in public health, social justice, local food systems, and community services.
Experience working with underserved populations and promoting equitable access to services.
Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and able to foster respectful, inclusive environments.
Experience working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with process improvement methods and community outreach strategies.
Spanish language skills a plus.
Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
College Degree or equivalent experience preferred
Training / Certification / Licensure:
CPR Certification as required by program
First Aid Certification as required by program
Driver’s License Abstract must meet Virtua Health’s insurance carrier standards.
Defensive driving course preferred.
Must pass NJ MVR background check process to operate Virtua Vehicles.
Hourly Rate: $21.21 - $31.81 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
