Critical Care Physician - TeleICU

Virtua Medical Group is seeking a full time Critical CarePhysician to join our TeleICU program. 

The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine and will have >1 year of recent experience within a high acuity adult critical care setting, or >1 year recent adult tele-critical care experience. 3 or more years of experience are preferred.

• This position will be a component of an enterprise-level Tele-Critical Care (TCC) program that provides continuous on-demand critical care support to patients at Virtua Health. The intensivist will work from the remote physician’s site or from the Virtua Enterprise Logistic Center and will include the use of traditional virtual health technologies (e.g., remote electronic monitoring, health record access and alerts, far-end controllable patient-side camera systems, and remote bio-physiologic monitoring systems).

• Provides remote virtual surveillance, rounding, evaluations, examinations, and diagnosis in collaboration with the on-site medical staff caring for the critical care population as appropriate to manage optimum outcomes. Recommends, directs or orders diagnostic studies and treatment as needed.

• Completes appropriate level of documentation in the electronic medical record for cases in which the physician is actively involved.

• Assists in meeting external professional society, watchdog organization (e.g. Leapfrog Group), and government agency guidelines for care and documentation to meet expected national standards or guidelines (e.g. Severe Sepsis, Stroke, Heart Failure, STEMI, prevention of Hospital Acquired Conditions, etc.).
